Adelaide Kart Supplies is a
family business supplying karts,
parts and
accessories to karters at affordable prices. AKS operates without costly
overheads and customers benefit by buying products at very competitive prices.
Dave is always at trackside in South Australia in the prominent AKS Iveco
transporter which carries a wide range of parts to keep karters up and running.
AKS is the sole distributor of the outstanding
locally manufactured DBG
Racing Karts.
Dave Boorman, the proprietor of Adelaide Kart
Supplies, joined the Southern Go Kart Club at Bolivar in South Australia in 2000
to support sons Daniel and Scott who have progressed through the classes from
midgets to be currently competing in Clubman Light and Sportsman 125.
Daniel has been involved in the car industry since leaving college and is a
qualified mechanic. Scott has joined a family environmental business, LBW
Environmentals, as an Environmental Technician.
Early racing was done in TopKarts, but in 2003 the team
purchased TonyKarts and formed Team Green Racing. In 2004, the team was given
the opportunity by Redspeed Australia to drive the increasingly popular and
relatively new Redspeed Racing Karts. The Team Green became the Red Racing
Team and was successfully launched
fielding 6 karts.
In mid 2007 AKS
researched the market seeking an Australian manufactured chassis. The South Australian-made Benson
chassis was a clear winner for excellent quality and workmanship, great presentation and
at an affordable price.
In late 2010, Dave, Bruce and Greg (DBG)
set out to rejig the old chassis design to be in keeping with proven designs
coming out of Europe. Testing was completed in SA and NSW which resulted
in some minor shaping changes which has proven a winner. Hence the birth of the
DBG Racing Kart.
AKS is now sponsor
of the AKS Racing Team
with a large group of drivers competing regularly and successfully in most
divisions. The distinctive DBG decal on the candy red chassis with black or
white plastics make the karts standout trackside. |
